WINTER is HERE!!! – Please remember that overnight parking is NOT permitted in the Village – you might get a ticket! This also makes it difficult to plow as well as a problem for emergency vehicles if something were to happen. Please keep in mind that the Village has one plow truck and one driver – so be patient – your patience will be very much appreciated. If you do have any complaints (or appreciation for a job well done) please direct them to clerk@unionillinois.org – you can also send to mayor@unionillinois.org, as well.
Union provides water service for all residents in the Village limits. Water Bills are sent quarterly and can be paid at Prairie Community Bank, in Union, or via your online payment portal — provided by your bank. The Village of Union is looking into having an online payment option in the future – give us time – we just got a website!
Garbage Service — is provided through our contracted service with LRS (used te be Prairieland). You will need to contact LRS about your service, and setting up service or for additional services. Keep in mind that when a holiday happens – garbage service will be delayed by one day.

LRS also provides Leaf Pickup and E-Recycling services at specific times of the year. That information will be posted a month or so in advance.
Additional yard waste can be picked up with the purchase of yard waste stickers, available at the Village Hall. Please call 815-923-4153 or send email for information.
Parks and Recreation —
The Village of Union is surrounded by parks and the McHenry County conservation district biking/running trails. More information will be posted about this in time.
Siems Park — is a Lion’s Club provided park, off of Highbridge Road, outside of Union’s city limits. To obtain information for using the park – please call 815-715-0592
Veterans Park – is located on the Northside of Union, off of Park St. The pavilion is available for use for events. Please contact the Village Clerk for information. clerk@unionillinois.org
Street Lights – If you notice a street light is out in Union – you can send us an Email at clerk@unionillinois.org to report the outage.
Please note we are working on updated lighting in Railway Estates – and this is taking longer than usual – we hope to have answers soon!
